Holly Springs, N.C. — Holly Springs Mayor Dick Sears announced a proposal to bring a hospital and more than 200 jobs to the town Wednesday afternoon.
Sears was joined by Novant Health officials in making the announcement. Novant would run the proposed 46-bed Holly Springs Hospital.
The proposal must be approved by the state Division of Health Service Regulation. Novant is scheduled to file a certificate of need application on Aug. 15, with public hearings to follow on the plan in mid-October, Sears said. A decision could come by March 2009.
