Intersouth Adds Kenan-Flagler Graduate to Life Science Team

DURHAM, N.C. – Intersouth Partners is adding a new member to its life science investment team, but he will be a familiar face to many in the entrepreneurial community.

Jimmy Rosen, who was actively involved in the Venture Capital Investment Competition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is joining Intersouth after completing graduate school. Rosen has been a part-time intern at Intersouth through the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School’s venture fellows program. He will also earn a master’s degree in public health at UNC this spring...

Rosen is the fourth person Intersouth has added to its professional team since closing on its $275 million fourth fund last year.

“Since closing our fund last spring, we added three people on the IT side and this hire is to help us build capacity on the life sciences side,” said Suzanne Cantando, communications director for Intersouth.

Rosen began his internship with Intersouth in February of 2005.

Before going to graduate school, Rosen worked in the private sector, including a stint as an equity research analyst covering life science companies for Brean Murray & Co. He also is a former research assistant at UNC’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Rosen worked as well in a clinical role for the National Cancer Institute and at the Duke University Medical Center. He earned his undergraduate degree at Duke.
