Ben Folds Five will be performing together for the first time in nearly 10 years, the group announced this week.
The band will be playing a one-time reunion show Sept. 18 at UNC Memorial Hall in Chapel Hill as part of MySpace.com’s “Front to Back” series where bands perform entire albums. The band will play 1999’s “The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner” during the show.
Tickets go on sale Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. Proceeds from the show will go to Operation Smile, a charity which helps treat children and young adults born with facial deformities.
Ben Folds Five formed in Chapel Hill in 1993.
