Study Indicates Car Accidents Are A Leading Cause Of...
WASHINGTON D.C. - Study results released by The Department of Transportation this week indicate car accidents often result in the additional misfortune of dropped cell phone calls.
Other regrettable aftermaths seen as direct results of car accidents include spilled coffee and smudged make-up. In one particularly unfortunate case a driver cleaning his handgun was killed when the weapon discharged due to a head on collision.
To prevent such unfortunate outcomes government officials urge drivers to avoid car accidents. Roger Stillman of the Ohio Insurance Institute commented, “The evidence strongly suggests incidents such as dropped cell phone calls are easily prevented when drivers strive to maintain a strong driving record.”

Same here. I've been in only one accident that involved my cell phone, and I was rear ended by this chick and her 2 kids in a Suburban.
My little Toyota didn't stand a chance. Or my shoulder. Man, even though she just rolled into me, she whacked my back pretty good.
I dropped my phone, and I hadn't even made the call yet.
My philosophy while driving with a cell phone is pretty simple. The road is more important than my phone. If I'm holding it, I'll drop that thing in a hot minute.
It's just a phone. Jaysus.

I will NEVER understand road rage. I mean, I get peeved at people who are doing seemingly stupid stuff on the roads, but not enough to attack them for it.
And I never flip people off unless I'm sure they're not packing heat and I could lick'em in a fist fight if we wound up at a stoplight together. LOL ;)
True story. I was waiting at a light a couple days ago, and this car in front of me switched lanes. I was in a straight lane, and didn't feel inclined to pull up to the light. Some crazed out dude on an SUV flew past me, horn honking. I just pretended not to notice him flipping me off, and he honked harder, still flipping me off. I glanced out of the corner of my eye to make sure my doors were locked, and reached over to grab my cell in case I had to dial 911.
The light changed, and the dude just SAT there, until some people further back started to honk. When he finally went, he was going like 30 mph in a 45 mph zone. It was weird. I didn't mind, as I wasn't in a hurry.

I don't text and drive, though I have been known to text at long stoplights.
