Way back when, when it was clear that McCain was going to win the primaries, many conservatives were distressed, to the point many said they were not going to vote.  Thye saw it as a defeat for conservatism.

I, on the other hand, saw this as the greatest opportunity for conservatism in one hundred years!  McCain is weak candidate, on his own, without the conservative minority behind him.  Thus, an opportunity for HARD DEAL MAKING.

The sign, that a deal had been struck, would be in the picking of the VP.

THE DEAL IS MADE.

Conservatives will have influence in this next administration, GREAT INFLUENCE.  Use it wisely!

If the Democrats were counting on the conservatives sitting out the election, time to SOBER UP!  The flag is unfurled, and the trumpets sound!  The conservatives are on the march, and they will flatten the Democrats this time around!

"I was one of those who was going to sit this one out."

I'm glad to hear you say that oldschool - not voting for McCain (even holding your nose) is de facto support for Obama - I know your stance on the damage to the party by a McCain Presidency and agree somewhat - but I could never get behind 'losing this one to win the next one' - let's win them all....

"And Obama is not what is best for this country."

What scares me most about Obama is not Obama, it's the Democratic power players that are now encircling them - power players which couldn't get elected on their own.

I hope and pray that he isn't or doesn't become their puppet, but I fear the strings are already being unfurled for attachment, and I feel for the guy.

But I'm voting Republican this time.

God bless.

x- You're right. I was one of those who was going to sit this one out. This is the ONLY thing McCain could have done to get my vote. I am still amazed that he not only did it, he did it with amazing deftness.

For me it is not about conservative vs. liberal, Republican vs. Democrat, it's about what is best for our country.

And Obama is not what is best for this country.

Hey! I am hardly a conservative (or even a liberal), we're called a Centrist - but McCain picking Palin strengthened my resolve to vote for him. Before then, his veteran status was almost my only deciding factor.

God bless.

Rev. RB

GWALLY, that's exactly what they want you to think. Don't buy into it...you are certainly not alone.

It's funny how hard it is to find media stations talking about McCain today but you couldn't find one that wasn't talking about Obama for days after his nomination. I found a few off and on that starts out talking McCain and Palin but after a few minutes it shifts to Obama. Amazing what you learn when paying attention to politics.

Hmmm, hope you are right. Liberal agendas are just about all I see or hear about on the news....which makes me wonder at times......"am I all alone"..???
