bikefest/rally in raleigh

by Mohawkhb
Published Sep. 7, 2008

All you bikers need to mark your calendars.  Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th is the 4th annual bikers Rally in Raleigh.  Last year was the first time I attended and it was great to have something so nice and close enough to take the wife and grandkids.  They all loved it.  This year there will be a 130 vintage Corvette only car show in the new convention center. Also this year, there will be a Dealer and HOG dealership pin stop, demo rides sponsored by the H-D  motor company. This Capital City BikeFest is North Carolina's only major downtown bike rally and music festival. The rally features national and regional rock, country and alternative recording artists plus a host of other musical artists and bands.” This bikefest is for all bikes not just Harley-Davidson.  The picture is the 2009 Harley that will be raffled off by the Raleigh HOG.  Tickets will be available at the rally.

I went last year and I never seen so many wild looking bikes.

I just want to see the V-Rod Muscle. That thing looks cool as heck online, but I have yet to see one in real life.

It will be even better this year. Got the HD execs coming down.

Seems like I'm always scheduled to work on the weekend this comes up. I heard last years event was utterly fantastic. Hope y'all that do get to go, enjoy it!

Oh, speaking of the kids, one word of caution - if you take your little ones, please be sure to watch them around the bikes. Last year I saw a child touch hot pipes on a recently-parked bike, which wasn't fun for anyone! The child didn't appear to be badly burned, thank goodness.

Also lots of stuff for the kids.

This is a great event and we go every year. I'll get to take my new bike this year, which will be an added bit of fun for me! :-) Definitely a good time for all and a great opportunity to see some great music and very cool bikes.
