about danaybanks2

Although I'm new to NC (via Brooklyn, NY), I think that the people of NC, for the most part, want to do the right thing, move forward in a positive way and not hold onto the image of the "old (racist) South."  And, although, I miss NY with all my heart, when I leave the country (which I do frequently for work), I'm always happy to land at RDU, sit on my balcony and, as we say in NY...CHILL!

I'm trying to get a "girls night out" going. I've got a couple on board for this Saturday... if you're interested email me: shoultesy@yahoo.com

wanted to drop by and say hi! **HUGS**

Sorry it took so long for me to respond. Been busy.

You got the right bagel place. What I wouldn't give for a good Jewish deli....pastrami, corned beef, brisket...I'm making myself hungry!! lol Have a good one!

I just LOVE you! I am now officially 35!!!

I'm sure you two are a beautiful couple!

I'm from Bay Ridge. I know what you mean about guilt. I went to St. Anselm for K-8 and St. John Villa in SI for high school.

We moved down here in 2004 and don't regret one minute of it. We even got used to not being able to get the same food. If you're missing the Italian bread, did you ever go to NYBD in Cary? They're from Brooklyn and make fresh Italian bread on Sundays. The last time I flew up there with my daughter, we came back with an entire suitcase full of pizza, bakery cookies and bagels. They probably thought we were crazy!!

Sounds like we might be neighbors down here too! Have a good one and talk to you soon.

Oh yea, Peter Lugers is great!

hmmmmmmm not really sure what that last comment meant... like I think I KINDA knew... but you know what assuming does? LOL! Got to go get Dom and get ready for trick or treat! Have a great weekend!

:) OF COURSE WE LET HIM SKIP SCHOOL AND GO TO THE OBAMA RALLY! LOL. His Dad, his partner, Dom and I all went! It was a good family experience! He's watching history in the making! I ran into his teacher the other day and she told me exactly what she thinks of Dom. She told me that every day he says something to her and she just has to stand back and say "WHOA! a 7 year old just said that!" I'm so proud! He's wonderful! Where in NY are you from? We're from Syracuse!?!?!?!

First person I saw on here from Brooklyn. What part?

HEY! thank you for your comment on my blog! Haven't seen you around!?!?!? yes, my son is ALMOST 8 (and he's super stoked that his birthday is the day after election day!) He is my hero! He really is. I've always been beyond proud of him! I have a degree in Political Science and his Dad is gay. His Dad has participated in a LOT of political rallies, mostly for gay rights. We are a VERY VERY close, VERY non-traditional family and I've never pushed Dom in one way or another, but I'm sure glad that he's got a head on his shoulder, that he thinks with it and he's not afraid to speak his mind. Who knows? he could be leading this country someday!?

Welcome to GOLO! I am still somewhat new to the area, having only moved here 18 months ago. Let me know if I can help you in any way! -Angela
