I realize the last few blog posts have been centered around the bathroom, well guess what, so has my life recently. But, I promise this will be the last for a while...I hope.
As you might guess, the boy takes center stage in this one, again. He's actually doing very well lately with potty training. He hasn't had an accident in a while. That is if you call pooping or peeing in his pants an accident. The urine sprayed on my bathroom walls is another story...and today's post.
I always try to go into the bathroom with him when it's time to go, especially when he needs to go #2. He seems to forget that most of the time #2 is preceded by #1. I'm constantly reminding him that all of his parts need to be in the bowl and facing down. Well this particular time I had my hands full with my 17month old. I was rushing to get in there because I knew I would totally regret it later. And...I did.
When I walked in, my

Yep, you read it correctly! Carys, my almost 17 month old, is getting a big kick out of peeing in the toilet. I'm like, what....are you kidding me! One kid at a time here! I'm still dealing with my three year old, Caiden!
It started a few months ago when I was potty training Caiden. I had Caiden and Carys with me in the bathroom. I sat Caiden on the toilet...and got zip. I thought what the heck, while I'm here, I'll just sit Carys on there. And would you believe she peed!!! She was 15 months old at the time. I was dumbstruck!
I never really considered continuing the training with Carys. I mean jeez, the kid can only say a couple of words, she still drools and doesn't have all her teeth yet! Well, yesterday, I took off her diaper and thought I would let her run around a litte while in the buff. Let things air out a bit ya know. She made a bee-line for the bathroom. I thought, that little stinker's going to play in the sink. I followed her and dontcha

It amazes me every day, how much my 4 3/4 year old daughter, Campbell, acts like a 15 year old. She's smart as a whip and talks like it too. Just the other day, my 3 year old son Caiden was bugging her, imagine that. And Campbell said, "Stop it Caiden, or I'll eat you for breakfast!" She said she heard it on Spiderman. Lovely, just lovely.
Campbell got into a little bit of trouble at school one day because she wasn't listening. I had a talk with her and so did my husband a little later. He asked her why she got into trouble, to which she replied, "Stop Dad, it's my life!." What the heck???? I don't remember having that smart mouth when I was a kid! This must be payback for something my husband did! :-)
I caught her one day outside throwing sand at her brother. I was inside watching. I ran out and asked why she did it. She said, without hesitating, "His

The Spiderman, spiderweb sticker reward poster thing, was a huge......disappointment. Caiden got several little stickers for going #1 on the toilet. Not a single big sticker for going #2. He just keeps going in his underwear. One night, we woke up to find him with his diaper off and poo spread around his room! Nothing says good morning, like the sight and scent of your son's excrement spread around his room!
A lot of you posted great ideas for potty training. I've tried several of them in the past. The commando thing turned out to be a bad idea. He pulled the sprinkler move in the living room across the fireplace, tv and wall. Not long after, he squatted on the rug and left a more solid calling card. I wasn't there at the time, but my mom tells me my 4 year old daughter saw it and went screaming into the bathroom, grabbed some toilet paper, picked it up and threw it in the toilet!! Can you believe it???
I

Whoever said potty training boys was harder than girls, put it mildly. My son Caiden turned three last month. He remains un-potty trained. My daughter Campbell was completely trained by the time she was 2 1/2, even over-night! My son, not so much.
We gauged Caiden's interest when he was 2 1/2. On a scale of 1 -10, his interest level was about a -4. So we waited. A few months later we started slowly, very casually. The kid WAILED to have his diaper on. Did not want any part of underwear, even the cute boxer briefs I bought him. If we changed his diaper and didn't put a new one on and walked away...he would grab a diaper and run after us, SCREAMING to put it back on. The interest level was still seriously low. So we waited.
The ladies at daycare were trying to help us out and suggested putting underwear on over his diaper. But one morning my husband decided to skip the diaper all together and
