Miss Fifi has a fabulous profile for you this week. Meet Contessa 'Tess' Hohmeier. A very sweet, well-behaved, five year old Dalmation.
"Dalmations were bred to run with horse and carriages," said her human, Joni Hohmeier. "Therefore they need plenty of exercise." Tess gets her daily exercise on the Sandy Creek Trail in Durham and on weekends at the Eno River Park, where she often goes for a swim. She's also a Duke fan, and loves to walk through Sarah Duke Gardens.
"All children recognize dalmatians," Joni said, "and Tess always sits patiently while they pet her and tell her their names and ages. Tess is a liver spot dalmatian and the children are interested in learning that dals come with brown 'liver' spots, as well as black spots."
Did you know that Tess is a beginner in the sport of dog agility? And most exciting of all, Miss Fifi learned that Tess recently celebrated her fifth birthday with a pupsicle at Loco Pops in Durham, where they have chicken or beef flavored frozen treats for dogs (and gourmet fruit flavors for humans).
Woof! I'm off to Loco Pops ...
