Teaching Middle School is not an easy task, especially today when there are so many broken homes and children going to school with so many issues to deal with. Then to try to teach them and to help them continue to perserve in situations you know you would have a very difficult time doing – this is the every day life of a special education teacher in Middle school. Mrs. Franklin hits the issues head on. She gives respect and teaches them to respect themselves and to respect others. She does not settle for less. She takes them on a journey of learning that they have never been on before and they are surprised at far they can go with the help of a teacher who really cares and has a vision for them. My son had Mrs Franklin for 3 years and he knows she will not accept anything but his best. He must try and when he does he is so proud and he realizes that he can! What a life lesson to learn.
